Neville Appointed Valencia Manager But Not Phil

Former Manchester United defender, Gary Neville has been appointed temporary manager of La Liga side, Valencia.

This comes as a huge surprise to many. Gary's brother, Phil had been the assistant manager of the club since the summer and was installed as temporary manager of the club after Nuno Espirito Santo resigned last Sunday.

Instead of Phil, the club owner Peter Lim chose Sky Sports pundit, Gary Neville over his younger brother. The 40-year-old will quit his job with Sky Sports but will remain part of the England national team coaching setup.

Speaking after his appointment, Gary had this to say:

"I am absolutely thrilled to be given this opportunity with Valencia. Valencia are a huge football club of immense standing and I know from my time as a player the passion and dedication of the Valencia fans.
"I am really looking forward to working with the club’s talented group of players and am excited about the challenge ahead."
