'I fell in love with that dude': Timaya Opens Up About Don Jazzy

Nigerian dancehall music star, Timaya recently granted an interview to Notjustok TV. He spoke a lot about how his recent collaboration with Mavin president and veteran music producer, Don Jazzy came to be.

According to the self-acclaimed Egberi Papa, he was done recording the song, I Concur before it occurred to him that having Don Jazzy on the track will be a brilliant idea.
Trying to be very honest, Timaya explained that he has never been really close to the Mavin head honcho before then and so he didn't even have his phone number.

In a bid to reach Don Jazzy, he said he called former EME artiste, Skales so as to get the number. Skales directed him to Bizzle Osikoya who eventually sent him the revered producer's contact.

Timaya went on to explain that his call to Jazzy didn't go through so he sent a text introducing himself. Don Jazzy eventually called him back and he then tendered his request to the Mavin boss. All this was going at about past 1:00am on the said day.

Don Jazzy accepted the request and then sent Timaya his mail address. Timaya mailed the song to him immediately and by past 4:00am (about three hours later) the same day, Don Jazzy had sent back the song to him completely arranged with his own verse added.

That's not all! The video for I Concur was shot days later and Don Jazzy arrived set even before Timaya. The Dem Mama soldier said there was no drama working with the music production god and since then his respect has grown even more for the man we call Don Baba Jay, Dorobucci or Janta.

Nice to see a Nigerian artiste give such a brilliant testimony about his colleague. Meanwhile, kudos to Don Jazzy for successfully demystifying his brand over the past few years and for being so real and super cool.
